The audience sang hits such as "Vital e sua Moto", "Alagados" and "Lanterna dos Afogados" during the 1h50 presentation of the show "Vital – O Musical dos Paralamas" at Teatro Amazonas, in the center of Manaus. The musical, which says goodbye to Manaus this Sunday (6), celebrates the 40th anniversary of the band Os Paralamas do Sucesso and highlights friendship and music as pillars of the group's trajectory.
With artistic direction by Pedro Brício, text by Patrícia Andrade and musical direction by Daniel Rocha, the show tells the story of Herbert Vianna, Bi Ribeiro and João Barone, members of the band.
The piece recalls important moments, such as Lulu Santos' invitation to their first performance at Circo Voador, their participation in the debut of Rock in Rio, the first time they played on a radio station in Rio de Janeiro and Herbert Vianna's accident in 2001, which changed the band's history. The songs drive the entire narrative.
Rodrigo Salva, who plays Herbert Vianna, told g1 that he considers it a privilege to sing and tell the band's story in Brazil. The musical has already toured 13 cities and Manaus is part of the second season of the tour.
"It's a privilege. I grew up listening to Paralamas a lot and I believe that all Brazilians have come across the band's music. It's very special to be able to live this and take the story through Brazil. I'm a lucky person", said the actor, who also highlighted the pleasure of performing at Teatro Amazonas, as part of the family is from the state.
Arthur Berges, who plays João Barone, also highlighted the emotion of acting at Teatro Amazonas, considered one of the country's greatest cultural symbols.
"Ah, this theater is a treasure, right? It's a national treasure. So it's really a privilege to be here. And not just in Amazonas itself, but I think traveling doing what we do is really cool."
The audience actively participates in the presentation. At the debut in Manaus, young people and adults remembered the band's trajectory. Among them, housewife Ruth Gonçalves, 56 years old, who went to the show with her sister Rose.
"I'm a fan. I saw it in the advertisement and I was excited to come. It reminds me of the old days, good times. I called my sister and some friends to enjoy it", he said.
When asked about the song that had the greatest impact, she answered without hesitation: "Glasses".
Cast
The cast features Rodrigo Salva as Herbert Vianna, alternating with Nando Motta; Franco Kuster as João Barone and Bi Ribeiro; and Hamilton Dias as businessman José Fortes. Also participating are Barbara Ferr, Herberth Vital, Julia Sanchez, Bhener Carvalho, Ivanna Domenyco and Thiago Franzé.
The casting selection prioritized authenticity and inclusion of actors with disabilities. Rodrigo said that actor Hebert Vital, who is part of the musical, suffered a motorcycle accident and was in a coma for 20 days, a period
The show has already received the APTR Award for Best Musical Theater Production and was nominated in categories such as Set Design, Costume Design and Music. It also competed for the Shell Award, the Bibi Ferreira Award and the Digital Press Highlight. Production is carried out under the Federal Culture Incentive Law (Rouanet Law), with support from the Ministry of Culture and Caixa Vida e Previdência.
The last performances of the show "Vital – O Musical dos Paralamas" take place this Sunday (6), at Teatro Amazonas, in the center of Manaus. The shows are scheduled for 5pm and 8pm and conclude the production's visit to the capital of Amazonas, which celebrates the 40th anniversary of the band Os Paralamas do Sucesso.
