Gang captures driver and steals a load of automotive parts valued at R$1.4 million in Jundiaí

The robbery occurred around 1 pm, at km 45 of the highway. According to police records, the escort agents had stopped a vehicle on the side of the road to change drivers when they were surprised by criminals.

According to the police report, three hooded men, armed with two rifles and a pistol, disembarked from a white car and approached the victims on the side of the road. A fourth suspect remained behind the wheel of the vehicle used by the group.

One of the criminals, armed with a rifle, forced one of the agents to return to the driver's seat of the car parked on the side of the road and ordered the other to occupy the passenger seat. The suspect held the victim at gunpoint, while the other members of the group returned to the car used in the approach.

The police record showed that the gang followed the escort car to the truck. Afterwards, the two victims were transferred to the robbers' vehicle, where they found the truck driver, who had also already been surrendered.

The three were held hostage by the criminals throughout the journey, while one of them drove the car and the other kept a rifle pointed at the victims.

The group headed towards the capital of São Paulo. Near Ponte dos Remédios, at the beginning of Marginal Tietê, the victims were released and the criminals then fled.

After the robbery, the tractor truck used by the escort team was found at a gas station on the banks of Rodovia dos Bandeirantes.

The semi-trailer, the container and the cargo with 8,152 imported automotive parts, valued at almost R$1.4 million, were taken by the criminals. The items were destined for the city of Sorocaba (SP).

The transport company's monitoring department found the movement strange and managed to locate the truck and the escort vehicle at the station, but found that the semi-trailer and the merchandise had been stolen.

In addition to the cargo, the criminals took a 12-gauge shotgun, two .38-caliber revolvers, two sets of ballistic plates and ammunition that were under the team's responsibility.

The case was registered at the Itupeva Police Station (SP) as theft of a vehicle, cargo and other objects, using a firearm. Until the last update of this report, the semi-trailer, container, cargo and weapons had not been located.
