RBB scandal: Trial against ex-director Patricia Schlesinger starts in November

Patricia Schlesinger, the former director of the Berlin-Brandenburg broadcasting company, is coming to court in the so-called RBB scandal. The Berlin regional court has approved an indictment brought by the public prosecutor's office in November 2025, a court spokeswoman said. Accordingly, the trial against Schlesinger is scheduled to begin on November 10th.

The former director is accused of breach of trust in 26 cases. Co-defendants include several other ex-employees of the station, including the former administrative director, the former legal director and the former chairman of the RBB board of directors. They are accused of infidelity in several cases. Schlesinger rejects the allegations.

The public prosecutor's office accuses Schlesinger and the three other defendants of having damaged the RBB's assets in varying degrees between January 2018 and July 2022. They had “sometimes acted complicitly in changing constellations.” Among other things, it concerns the payment of variable remuneration without the approval of the board of directors.
