As a reflection of the demographic characteristics of the region, the four largest cities in this area of the state of São Paulo account for almost half of this year's entire electorate.
📌Together, Ribeirão Preto (SP), Franca (SP), Sertãozinho (SP) and Barretos (SP) have 891,628 voters, which represents 48.5%.
Alone, Ribeirão Preto accounts for more than a quarter of the electorate, with 471,128 people eligible to vote, 3,400 more compared to four years ago.
In Franca, there are 241,708 voters, 5.4 thousand fewer than in 2022. Sertãozinho and Barretos have, respectively, 93,439 and 85,353 voters. In both cases, the numbers are lower than those of the last presidential election.

More voters than residents

⁉️Among the 66 cities in the region, three interestingly have more voters than residents.
In addition to Rifaina, this is the case of Santa Cruz da Esperança, where 2,173 people live, according to the most recent IBGE estimate, but has 2,343 voters this Sunday.
The same situation is observed in Restinga (SP), which has 6,480 inhabitants, 349 less than the total number of qualified voters.
Experts explain that one of the reasons is the migratory flow: people who move to another city, but maintain their electoral registration in the municipality where they lived before.
Voter weight 60+
📌The general trend of population aging is also reflected in elections. Across the region, practically one in four voters is already 60 years old or over, representing 474,069 people.
In five municipalities, all with less than 10 thousand inhabitants, this proportion is even higher, around 30%. They are: Cássia dos Coqueiros, Cândido Rodrigues, Pirangi, Fernando Prestes and Santo Antônio da Alegria.
In Ribeirão Preto and Franca, the weight of 60+ is close to this and accounts for 27% of the electorate, equivalent to 129,418 and 66,877 voters, respectively.
