Too discreet in the first half, Soumaré was replaced at the break, a change which marked a real turning point in the match. Entering his place, the winger immediately showed his advantage, contributing more in ten minutes than his predecessor over the entire first period. Available and impactful, he notably increased the projections on his side to energize his team's play. He is one of the architects of this victory (1-0), which allows Rennes to temporarily take the lead in the championship.

Discreet in the first half, he gradually gained strength as the match progressed. Often correct in his choices and well in tune with Al-Tamari, he was rewarded for his efforts in the 52nd minute by scoring the only goal of the game. A symbolic achievement since it is his 50th goal in Ligue 1, but above all his first in the colors of Stade Rennais, which he joined this summer from Lens. Subsequently, he showed himself to be solid in duels and always technically precise. He even came close to the double, his shot crashing against the crossbar. A successful performance which earned him the title of man of the match.

The same eleven as against Paris FC, but a new face. A profitable choice from Bruno Genesio, who is starting to leave his mark on this team. By bringing back the same men, the Rennes coach allows his group to gain confidence and automatisms. A studious team, generous in efforts and more coherent in construction, with communication which also seems to have improved. All under the leadership of an omnipresent Pierre-Émile Højbjerg and Amine Gouiri involved in most of Rennes' good moves.

…but still frustrating
But the face displayed in the second half was much more disappointing. Quickly dominated and therefore less calm, Bruno Genesio's men gradually lost the thread of the match. Despite a few opportunities, they lacked realism and success to come back to the score. A second period which inevitably leaves some questions before the next European events and the Classic against PSG next weekend.

Angel Gomes too clumsy
Still too imprecise. The Englishman certainly showed some good things, notably in this action where he lifted the ball perfectly before finding Højbjerg in the area, but his match remains marked by too much waste. He missed several opportunities and struggled to combine with Harit and Gouiri during the transition phases. Too little present in the zone of truth, he also faded when OM began to lose control of the match. He did not know how to bring the serenity and accuracy necessary to revive his team. Replaced in the 65th minute by Keyliane Abdallah, who had no further impact on the match.
