Republika Srpska PM Calls for Diplomacy to Prevent Armed Conflict

BELGRADE, September 30. /TASS/. Europe must do everything in its power to prevent an armed conflict, militarization cannot be the answer, Republika Srpska (an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina) Prime Minister and ruling Alliance of Independent Social Democrats candidate for Republika Srpska president Savo Minic told TASS.

"If we already have diplomatic ties, let us talk. If we have communication channels, let us use them. I think it is in everyone’s interests to do everything in our power to prevent an armed conflict," Minic noted.

The Republika Srpska prime minister also stressed that he "knows very well what war is," as he personally took part in hostilities in the early 1990s, and therefore considers it unacceptable to speak of militarization as a solution.
