Russian attacks killed four people in Ukraine on Saturday, while a Ukrainian attack left three dead and two injured in Russia's Krasnodar region.
In Ukraine, two women died under the rubble of a house in Zaporizhzhia, and two other people died in an attack in the city of Sumy.
Faced with the intensification of bombings, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called for a more energetic response from allies and cited attacks on homes in different regions.
Ukraine has used long-range drones against Russian refineries and companies, and the governor of Krasnodar has reported fires at two industrial facilities.
In the Kiev region, an attack left two injured and caused a fire in a warehouse; in the capital, four other people were injured, and buildings were damaged.
Russian strikes killed four people across Ukraine on Saturday, officials said, as the air war between Moscow and Kiev intensifies.
Russia has been bombarding Ukraine with cruise and ballistic missiles, powerful glide bombs and jet drones as the front-line advance has slowed, some four and a half years after Moscow launched a full-scale invasion of its neighbor.
"It is essential that our partners do not forget: Russia is intensifying its attacks every day. If the Russians have chosen to make their attacks even more brutal, the world must opt for more forceful responses to prevent the war from spreading further," Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote on Saturday morning.
He listed “numerous attacks on homes” in the cities of Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia, and in the regions of Odesa, Sumy and Kharkiv.
Two women in Zaporizhzhia died buried under the rubble of their destroyed home, the Zaporizhzhia regional military administration said. A separate Russian attack on the city of Sumy also killed two people, local officials said.
Earlier this week, Zelensky called at the United Nations for countries to deprive Russia of revenue through sanctions and trade bans, denying Moscow the money it needs to prolong the war. But despite years of diplomatic efforts, there are no signs of progress towards an end to the conflict.
Meanwhile, long-range drones from Ukraine have targeted Russian oil refineries and companies. A Ukrainian drone attack in the southern Krasnodar region killed three people and injured two, local authorities said on Saturday.
In a post on Telegram, regional governor Veniamin Kondratyev said a Ukrainian attack caused fires at two industrial facilities, but did not provide further details. Russian media outlets later reported that a local oil refinery was the target of the attack.
Elsewhere in Ukraine, two people were injured in the Kiev region overnight after a Russian drone strike sparked a fire at a warehouse in the Boryspil district. Russian drones also struck several districts in the Ukrainian capital itself, injuring four people and damaging residential and commercial buildings, officials said.
Russia's Defense Ministry said on Saturday that its attack on Kiev damaged a data center that supported both cellular internet services and Starlink satellite communications systems.
