Russian and Moroccan Foreign Ministers Discuss Bilateral Relations and Regional Crisis Resolution

MOSCOW, September 26. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has discussed with Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita further development of bilateral relations and the resolution of crises in the region on the basis of the UN charter, the Russian Foreign Ministry said after their meeting in New York during the high·level week of the UN General Assembly.

"Priority tasks for further strengthening the traditionally friendly Russian·Moroccan relations were discussed," it said in a statement.

"It was emphasized that multifaceted cooperation is developing in accordance with the spirit and letter of the Statement on an Enhanced Strategic Partnership dated March 15, 2016. The ministers reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining effective foreign policy coordination on the pressing issues on the regional agenda, including with a view to resolving the issue of Western Sahara and other ongoing conflict situations through political and diplomatic means based on the universally recognized principles of international law and the UN charter."
