Problems in the fuel market continue in Russia

In his statement to the Russian state channel Vesti, Novak made evaluations about the situation in the problematic fuel market in Russia.

Stating that the necessary regulations have been accepted to provide additional fuel to the domestic market, Novak said, "Imports have now started. In addition, the necessary regulations have been accepted to produce lower class fuels such as Euro-2, Euro-3 and Euro-4." he said.

Novak noted that there is enough fuel in the country to meet the needs of the domestic market, but high demand increased consumption by approximately 20 to 30 percent.

Pointing out that the situation in the market has become difficult again, Novak said, "The government is constantly monitoring the situation closely. We are monitoring the developments on a daily basis together with the companies and regions." he said.

Novak said they expect some oil refineries to complete maintenance work in a short time and the situation to improve.

While the fuel problem, which eased last month in Russia, one of the world's largest oil producers, has deepened again, access to gasoline is becoming increasingly difficult in various parts of the country.

While many facilities were being taken into maintenance due to Ukraine's attacks on oil refineries in Russia with unmanned aerial vehicles, some restrictions on fuel sales had begun to be implemented in many regions of the country.

The Russian government also banned the export of diesel fuel and gasoline.
