Salih Özcan expressed that Türkiye was sorry after 4 defeats

Salih Özcan made evaluations to Turkish press members at the Renato Dall'Ara Stadium in Bologna, where the match was played.

Reminding that Türkiye suffered 4 defeats in 4 competitions in today's match in the UEFA Nations A League Group 1, Özcan said:

"Obviously, we are very sorry, I mean, we had hope at first. We actually started the France match well, we showed our face, but unfortunately at this level, even if you make a mistake tomorrow, teams at this level really take that mistake and score a goal. We learned this and we should not accept it, and hopefully we will show a different face in the next matches."

Asked about the reasons why Turkey had difficulties both in attack and defense, Özcan said, "As I said, even if you make a simple mistake at this level, the teams are so qualified that they score a goal immediately after that mistake. You should not make simple mistakes, you need to concentrate. Frankly, I think we played very well against France in the first match. If you look at France, they had a hard time against us. We have to play like that, but as I said, we are very sorry." he said.

Özcan responded to the question about how the atmosphere in the dressing room was: "As I said, we are sorry about the weather. But now we have to stand tall and not give up hope with the team. We know that the opponents are very good, but we have to continue and hopefully good days will come." he replied.
