Foundation of Samsun Çarşamba Airport New Terminal Building is Being Laid

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that they will lay the foundation of Samsun Çarşamba Airport New Domestic and International Terminal Building on Thursday, September 3.

Stating that air transportation demand and passenger traffic at Samsun Çarşamba Airport have increased significantly over the years, Uraloğlu noted that 1 million 640 thousand 95 passengers and 17 thousand 169 aircraft traffic will be served at the airport in 2025. Uraloğlu stated that in the projections made, passenger and aircraft traffic is expected to reach twice the current level in 2050.

Stating that they will build a modern and high-capacity new terminal building to respond to the increasing passenger and flight traffic, Uraloğlu said, "We will bring a new domestic and international terminal building of 29 thousand 120 square meters to Samsun from scratch. With our new terminal, we will increase the annual passenger capacity of our airport from 2 million to 3 million." he said.

APRON AREA WILL REACH 71 THOUSAND 211 SQUARE METERS

Noting that within the scope of the project, a new domestic and international terminal building, as well as a new power center, heat center, apron barrier building and airport internal connection roads will be built, Uraloğlu stated that the apron area will be enlarged by 17 thousand 184 square meters.

Uraloğlu said, "Our apron area will reach 71 thousand 211 square meters from 54 thousand 27 square meters. We will also increase the number of aircraft parking positions from 10 to 14. We will also increase the parking capacity from 246 vehicles to 1,506 vehicles." he said.

Stating that the number of check-in counters will increase with the new terminal, Uraloğlu stated that passenger lounges, baggage and VIP areas will also be expanded. Uraloğlu also noted that within the scope of the project, the new CIP building will be added to Samsun Çarşamba Airport.
