Samsung Electronics Enters Global Top 10 by Market Capitalization

South Korean Samsung Electronics, whose quotes continue to grow rapidly, broke into the ranks of the world market leaders for the first time, entering the global top 10 by capitalization, according to TradingView data.

The Far Eastern company, the value of whose securities exceeded a trillion dollars for the first time in early May, on June 2 rose in price by another 3.3 percent, to 1.44 trillion. In just over a year, thanks to the rapid growth in demand for chips used in artificial intelligence (AI) tools, its price has increased more than five times.

Having risen in price by almost one and a half times in a month despite a laboriously averted strike that threatened multibillion-dollar losses, Samsung became the second trillionaire company from Asia after the Taiwanese chip manufacturer TSMC. Third on the list last week was Samsung's main competitor, South Korean SK Hynix.
