New York. Several Samsung Group companies, including Samsung Electronics, have agreed to invest a combined $1 billion in Helix Digital Infrastructure.
The South Korean conglomerate is thus expanding its involvement in the rapidly growing market for AI infrastructure. Samsung Electronics, Samsung C&T, Samsung SDS, Samsung SDI, Samsung Life Insurance and Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance are participating in the investment, Samsung announced on Tuesday.
With the investment, Samsung is investing in a company that covers several business areas in which the group already has a strong presence. These include semiconductors, construction, data centers, cloud computing and financial services.
Helix was founded in June by the US investment company KKR together with the Kuwait Investment Authority, Nvidia and the US power producer Vistra. The partners have committed more than ten billion dollars to the company in the long term.
