The incident took place in a single-storey house in the rural Konuklu District of Haliliye district. Hüseyin Demircan, the son of a family said to be agricultural workers, asked for money from his mother, Huriye Çiçekli, who lived with her father in a religious marriage.

An argument broke out when Huriye Çiçekli responded negatively, stating that her husband Ahmet Demircan was being treated in the hospital and they might need money. Hüseyin D., who had a previous criminal record and was informed that there was an arrest warrant against him, opened fire on his family with a shotgun found at home during the argument.

While mother Huriye Çiçekli and her sisters Melikenur and Zeynep Demircan, who were hit by pellets, collapsed to the ground, the suspect ran away, leaving the rifle at the scene. Upon notice, teams were dispatched to the house. Upon check-up by the medical teams, it was determined that Zeynep Demircan had died. Huriye Çiçekli, who was taken to the hospital, could not be saved. It was reported that 11-year-old Melikenur Demircan, who was injured in her foot, continues her treatment in the hospital.

Police teams started an investigation into the incident and caught Hüseyin Demircan in an operation at the address where he was hiding. His friend A.Ç., who was determined to have helped the suspect hide. was also detained. After their procedures at the police station, Hüseyin Demircan and his friend, who were put on a steel vest and sent to the courthouse under intense security measures, were arrested by the court.

On the other hand, the bodies of Huriye Çiçekli, mother of 6 children, and her daughter Zeynep Demircan were buried after the autopsy performed at the Forensic Medicine Institute.
