8 Suspects Detained in Şanlıurfa Allegedly Financing ISIS

Şanlıurfa Provincial Police Department Counter-Terrorism Branch Directorate teams, under the coordination of Şanlıurfa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, started working on the financial resources of ISIS.

As a result of MASAK and HTS investigations, an operation was organized to capture 8 suspects who were found to have transferred money to people whose assets were frozen within the scope of the organization and to finance ISIS with a transaction volume of approximately 16.5 million lira.

All suspects were detained during the operation.

During the searches at the addresses, an unlicensed gun and 50 cartridges, 6.5 kilograms of gold coins, 432 thousand liras and 132 thousand dollars in cash and a lot of digital materials were seized.
