Sixteen-year-old dies in hospital after a night of partying in Sciacca

First, the night of celebrations in a holiday home in Sciacca, in the Agrigento area, together with friends; then suddenly the illness and the rush to hospital. After hours of resuscitation attempts, a sixteen-year-old originally from Palermo, who arrived at Giovanni Paolo II in cardiac arrest, died on the morning of August 15th. In the emergency room the policemen from the Sciacca police station are busy reconstructing the incident. An autopsy has been ordered to ascertain the causes of death.

The reconstruction From the first investigations, the teenager was in a holiday home with his girlfriend and some friends when, during the night, he felt ill. Rescued by 118 operators, he was intubated and rushed to the emergency room already in cardiac arrest. The doctors tried for a long time to resuscitate him, but shortly after 10am he was declared dead. The causes of death have not yet been clarified. The agents of the Sciacca police station are reconstructing the hours spent by the sixteen-year-old before his illness and have already listened to his girlfriend. During the evening the boys would have consumed alcohol, but, according to initial evidence, the quantity of alcohol found in the young man's blood would not be sufficient to explain his death. The public prosecutor on duty ordered an autopsy to ascertain what caused the cardiac arrest.
