The search for missing sailors on the ship that sank off the coast of Silivri is on its 11th day.

The search for the sailors who disappeared on the ship named Tuğberk İmamoğlu, which sank off the coast of Istanbul's Silivri district, continues on the 11th day.

Following the accident that occurred off the coast of Silivri in the Sea of ​​Marmara on September 2, search and rescue efforts initiated by the Coast Guard Command, General Directorate of Coastal Safety and Naval Forces Command continue.

Teams are carrying out coordinated search and screening activities at the accident site from air and sea.

Relatives of the missing are waiting in the crisis center established under the coordination of the district governorship and AFAD on the beach in Silivri.

WHAT HAPPENED?

In the accident that occurred approximately 18 miles offshore, the commercial ship named "Alsu", going from Kocaeli to Aliağa, and the ship named "Tuğberk İmamoğlu", sailing from İskenderun Port to Karadeniz Ereğli, collided, and after the accident, "Tuğberk İmamoğlu" sank.

On the 4th day of the accident, the location of the wreck was determined with the support of the advanced sonar systems and remote-controlled underwater vehicle (ROV) of the rescue ship TCG Akın belonging to the Naval Forces Command, and diving and scanning activities were intensified in this area.
