15th day in the search for the ship that sank off the coast of Silivri

On September 2, approximately 18 miles south of Silivri, the Turkish-flagged commercial ship named Alsu, going from Kocaeli to Aliağa, and the commercial ship named Tuğberk İmamoğlu, going from İskenderun Port to Karadeniz Ereğli, collided.

After the collision, the ship named Tuğberk İmamoğlu sank. Search and rescue efforts were launched after no news was received from the 10 crew members on the ship. Search and rescue efforts initiated by the Coast Guard Command, General Directorate of Coastal Safety and Naval Forces Command continue on the 15th day.

THE LOCATION OF THE SHIP'S WRECK WAS DETECTED ON THE 4TH DAY

As a result of the work carried out by the advanced sonar systems and remote controlled underwater vehicle (ROV) of the TCG Akın ship belonging to the Naval Forces Command, the location of the wreckage of the Tuğberk İmamoğlu ship, which sank on the 4th day of the accident, was determined. After the wreckage was found, efforts were focused on reaching the 10 missing crew members.

THE BODY OF THE SHIP CAPTAIN WAS FOUND

The male body, which was found 5 miles away from the ship that sank at noon on September 14, was determined to be Yaşar Kayhan, the 1st Captain of the Tuğberk İmamoğlu ship, in the examinations carried out by the Forensic Medicine Institute.
