Search efforts for the crew of the Tuğberk İmamoğlu ship, which sank off the coast of Silivri, are on their 12th day.

On September 2, approximately 18 miles south of Silivri, the Turkish-flagged commercial ship named Alsu, going from Kocaeli to Aliağa, and the commercial ship named Tuğberk İmamoğlu, going from İskenderun Port to Karadeniz Ereğli, collided. After the collision, the ship named Tuğberk İmamoğlu sank. Search and rescue efforts were initiated after no news was received from the 10 crew members on the ship. Search and rescue efforts initiated by the Coast Guard Command, General Directorate of Coastal Safety and Naval Forces Command continue uninterruptedly on the 12th day.

THE LOCATION OF THE SHIP'S WRECK WAS DETECTED ON THE 4TH DAY

As a result of the work carried out by the advanced sonar systems and remote controlled underwater vehicle (ROV) of the TCG Akın ship belonging to the Naval Forces Command, the location of the wreckage of the Tuğberk İmamoğlu ship, which sank on the 4th day of the accident, was determined. After the wreckage was found, efforts were focused on reaching the 10 missing crew members.

FAMILIES' WAITING CONTINUES

Relatives of the 10 missing crew members continue to wait at the contact point established for them on Silivri Beach. It was learned that the families were regularly informed by the teams about the developments in the search and rescue efforts.
