2 of the 6 suspects detained on the Alsu ship regarding the accident in which two Turkish-flagged commercial ships collided off the coast of Silivri were arrested.
The investigation initiated by the Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office after the ship named Tuğberk İmamoğlu sank as a result of the collision of the Turkish-flagged commercial ship named "Tuğberk İmamoğlu" and the Turkish-flagged commercial ship named "Alsu", loaded with rolled sheet metal and rebar, which was sailing from Kocaeli to Aliağa, approximately 18 nautical miles south of Silivri, and the 10-person crew on the ship could not be reached.
Within the scope of the investigation, 9 of the 10 people on the Alsou ship involved in the accident, except the cook, testified on the ship as suspects.
As the investigation and administrative investigation file continued, the suspects were taken under guard on the ship accompanied by the gendarmerie, taking into account the security of the ship.
It was learned that no alcohol was detected in the tests performed on the suspects on the ship and blood tests were also performed on the suspects for detailed examination.
The 1st and 3rd captains of the Alsou ship were arrested
In line with the preliminary report prepared by the expert committee appointed by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to determine the faults of the people involved in the incident, 6 suspects, whose testimony procedures were completed on the ship, were referred to Silivri Palace of Justice.
The suspects' statements were taken by 2 public prosecutors.
Among the suspects whose statements were completed at the prosecutor's office, the 1st and 3rd captains of the Alsu ship were referred to the criminal judgeship of peace with a request for arrest, taking into account their faults.
The other 4 suspects were sent to the judgeship with a request for judicial control.
The judgeship decided to arrest the first captain of the ship Alsu, Ahmet Erarslan, and the third captain, Murat Evciman, and to release the other 4 suspects under judicial control measures.
Inspection will be carried out by divers on the Alsu ship
Meanwhile, it was learned that divers will inspect the underwater parts of the Alsu ship.
In addition, in the statements of the suspects, it was stated that 2 or 3 people from the crew of the Tuğberk İmamoğlu ship were on the deck before the ship sank, and although there is no evidence or sign that they survived, it is possible to reach the bodies of these people if they died, but the wreckage of the ship has not been reached yet.
On the other hand, Coast Guard Marmara and Straits Regional Commander Rear Admiral Serkan Tezel and Coast Guard General Manager Mustafa Bankaoğlu also followed the search and rescue efforts on the TCSG GÜVEN ship belonging to the Coast Guard Command.

In the statement made by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated that the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office immediately launched an investigation upon the notice that the Turkish-flagged commercial ship named Tuğberk İmamoğlu, loaded with rolled sheet metal and rebar, and the Turkish-flagged commercial ship named Alsu, which were sailing from Kocaeli to Aliağa, approximately 18 nautical miles south of the Silivri district, sank as a result of the collision on September 2, around 03:00, and that the crew of 10 people on the ship could not be reached.
In the statement, which stated that search and rescue efforts continued in coordination with relevant institutions and organizations in order to reach the missing crew, the following statements were included:
"Necessary instructions have been given to carry out expert expert examinations in order to reveal the material truth in all its aspects by identifying the way and reasons for the incident and the persons responsible, if any, and to immediately preserve and collect all information, documents, images and other evidence related to the incident, as well as the navigation, radar and communication records of the ships. In order to carry out the investigation effectively and comprehensively, a deputy chief public prosecutor and two public prosecutors have been assigned and judicial procedures are being carried out meticulously."
It was learned that an administrative investigation was also carried out regarding the accident and statements would be taken.
