Sony announced that it will not attend CES 2027

In a new press release, Sony announced that it will not take part in CES 2027, which will be held in January. The company stated that the reason for this was to focus more on the entertainment industry. As you know, although Sony launches dozens of technological products, it also operates on the entertainment and financial side, including games, music, movies and television series.

Prioritization of needs in different business areas led Sony to withdraw from CES.

This decision comes after the company did not have its own booth at CES 26. Sony and Honda showed the prototype of the electric vehicle Afeela, which they developed together, but the vehicle project was canceled a few months after it was shown at the fair.

On the television side, Sony also transferred the management of the Bravia brand to TCL. This was evidence that the company was slowly exiting other consumer technology categories.

On the gaming side, Sony continues to produce consumer technologies under the PlayStation brand, but the last PlayStation 5 arrived in 2020, and the new version PlayStation 5 Pro arrived in 2024. In other words, the PlayStation 6, which has been expected for a while, has still not been introduced.
