SpaceX agrees with Qualcomm for 5G network across the US

In the statement made by Qualcomm, it was reported that the company will provide Dragonwing Cellular Infrastructure platforms to support Starlink Mobile's terrestrial base stations.

In the statement, it was stated that the network will combine high-capacity Massive MIMO wireless communication technology with energy-efficient processing infrastructure.

It was stated in the statement that SpaceX plans to start network installation works across the USA in 2027 and establish tens of thousands of sites within the scope of a multi-year agreement, and that the infrastructure supported by Dragonwing technology will provide a flexible network basis that can be used in different frequency bands and in multiple installation stages.

In the statement, it was emphasized that the cooperation focusing on the terrestrial 5G network is a commercial step in line with SpaceX and Qualcomm's broader vision for artificial intelligence-driven 6G infrastructure.

SpaceX announced in October that it had reached an agreement to purchase a nationwide license portfolio that includes low-band spectrum that can be used throughout the United States.

In the statement made by the company, it was stated that the agreement would pave the way for Starlink to become a major mobile operator in the USA.
