Trace to Netherlands in series of attacks in Frankfurt and Offenbach

In the current series of attacks, in which five incendiary devices were detonated at bars and a residential building in Frankfurt and Offenbach within a week, the trail leads to the Netherlands.

According to information from the F.A.Z. The motive for the crimes lies in a dispute between a group from the Rhine-Main area and one from the Netherlands, who got into a dispute over a drug deal. A large amount of drugs is said to have been stolen. This was already indicated by the writing with the word “drug thief” that was left at one of the crime scenes.

The arson attacks, for which perpetrators were specifically recruited from the Netherlands based on the “Violence as a Service” phenomenon, were therefore intended as a threat and revenge action. Apparently the Dutch group wanted to use the explosions to force the German group to retrieve the drugs and return them to them. There have also been arson attacks in the Netherlands.

The Dutch newspaper “De Limburger”, which reported in detail about the attacks there, speaks of an “international drug war”. The newspaper refers to the recent attack on a café in Blerick, a district of Venlo, which occurred on Wednesday night. Other acts in Amsterdam are also mentioned.

Speculation about “stolen drug delivery”

The newspaper also speculates about a “stolen drug delivery” that came from the German group. The newspaper names a man from Blerick with the nickname “Tiger” who is said to play “a central role” in the conflict as the suspected mastermind of the “acts of revenge” in Germany. The Dutch authorities, the newspaper continues, declined to comment due to the ongoing investigation. The public prosecutor's office and the police in Frankfurt also commented at the request of the F.A.Z. not for now.

The extent to which further arson attacks are connected to the conflict between the German and Dutch groups is reportedly being examined. The newspaper “De Limburger” reports, among other things, an attack on a shop in Osdorp, a district of Amsterdam. In addition, “a group of German-speaking men” were seen in Blerick who visited several bars where the suspected mastermind frequented. However, there is no confirmation of this.

The explosions in Frankfurt and Offenbach occurred between September 13th and 17th. Two shisha bars, a kiosk, an acai bowl shop and a residential building were affected. The Frankfurt police arrested two suspects aged 15 and 17. Apparently they had been recruited for the crimes by those behind the crime.
