On the 26th, the Thai government asked the commercial sector to strengthen supply and price supervision of daily necessities in disaster-stricken areas to prevent product shortages and unreasonable price increases.

Affected by rainfall and stagnant water, some residents in Bangkok are worried that their subsequent travel and shopping will be affected, and they buy food, drinking water and other daily necessities in advance. The demand for related products in some convenience stores and large supermarkets increased, and some products were sold out for a time.

Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Supajit asked the commercial sector to closely monitor the inventory and prices of necessities in flood-affected areas on the 26th, and coordinate companies to replenish goods to relevant areas in a timely manner. The commercial offices of each government will maintain contact with wholesalers, retailers and local businesses to coordinate supply and transportation according to local needs.

The Thai government also requires relevant departments to pay attention to transportation disruptions, promptly understand the material needs of affected communities, and ensure that basic living supplies such as food and drinking water can enter the disaster-stricken areas in a timely manner. Regarding possible hoarding of goods, price gouging, and product shortages, relevant departments will strengthen inspections and handle them in accordance with the law. If the public finds abnormal prices, shortages of goods, or merchants hoarding goods, they can report them to the relevant departments.

The Thai Meteorological Department forecast on the 26th that due to factors such as the low-pressure system and the southwest monsoon, there will still be heavy to heavy rains in central and eastern Thailand, including Bangkok and surrounding areas, and there will be risks of sudden floods, surface runoff and flash floods in some areas. Relevant heavy rainfall is expected to continue until the 27th.

Currently, the impact of flooding in some areas of Bangkok continues. The Bangkok City Government has listed parts of the three districts of Nong Hut, Sui An Luang and Kan Na Yao as flood disaster areas, involving a total of 13 districts.
