Statement from Fatih Erbakan on his Presidential Candidacy

Fatih Erbakan, Chairman of the Re-Welfare Party, announced that he will be a candidate in the next presidential election. Erbakan said that they would not withdraw in favor of another candidate, as in the previous election.

Fatih Erbakan, Chairman of the Re-Welfare Party, made statements about his party's attitude in the presidential election in the television program he attended.

To Erbakan, "Can we say for sure that Fatih Erbakan is a presidential candidate, from today?" The question was posed. Erbakan answered this question: "Yes, we say this."

"IT WOULD NOT BE APPROPRIATE TO WITHDRAW YOUR CANDIDACY"

Recalling the process before the 2023 Presidential elections, Erbakan explained that they withdrew from candidacy in favor of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and joined the People's Alliance during the process of collecting the signatures required for candidacy at that time.

Erbakan stated that this decision was taken in line with the conditions of the period and the agreement signed with the AK Party and said:

"For this reason, we think that it would not be appropriate, both politically and logically, for us to withdraw from candidacy in favor of any other candidate in another election."

Erbakan stated that the Re-Welfare Party is a political party with its own projects and solution proposals, and said that it is natural for the leader to be a presidential candidate:

"We are a political party that has projects, claims, solution proposals and aspires to govern the country. Therefore, as a political party, it is quite natural for the chairman to emerge as a candidate."
