Super League broadcast tender: 5 packages announced

The process for the new era in Turkish football has begun. The Super League broadcast tender will determine the 5-year period covering the 2027-2032 seasons. Additionally, the package contents have also become clear.

This tender is expected to be the highest-priced broadcast tender in history. It is also expected to be the most technologically advanced tender. Participants must submit their offers by the end of the month.

There are five packages in the Super League broadcast tender

Turkish Football Federation (TFF) announced the specifications. Accordingly, the tender will be held in five different categories. The contents of the packages are as follows:

Package A: Includes domestic live match broadcast rights of the Super League.

Package B: Includes Super League and 1st League radio broadcasting rights, as well as extensive match summaries.

Package C: Contains the international broadcasting rights of Super League and 1st League matches.

Package D: Includes live broadcasts and digital summary rights on international betting platforms.

Package E: Brings all packages under one roof. Moreover, it stands out as the most comprehensive and highest-priced option.

However, live data rights obtained from the competitions are excluded from this tender. Therefore, the data side is not included in the packages.

How will the bidding process work?

The tender will be made by sealed bidding and auction method. In addition, companies must pay the tender file fee of 750 thousand liras until the November 30 meeting date. Otherwise, they will not be able to participate in the process.

On the other hand, offers will be submitted by the end of the month. Then the tender meeting will be held on November 30. Thus, the process will be completed in a short time.

Technical criteria in the specification

The specification aims to renew the broadcasting infrastructure, which has been criticized for years. For this reason, it is mandatory to transfer up to 4K resolution with the latest generation cameras. Because 4K means approximately four times the number of pixels of standard Full HD.

It is also required to provide live broadcasting in vertical format for smartphones. Thus, matches can be watched with a more natural view on mobile screens. For example, it will be possible to monitor the phone full screen without turning it sideways.

The total tender price is aimed to exceed the 400 million dollar threshold. Bids will be submitted by the end of the month, and the tender meeting will be held on November 30.
