Femicide suspect is arrested inside church after exchange of gunfire with police in Nova Lima

According to the investigation, the woman was murdered by her ex-partner after going to his house for a conversation. After committing the crime, the suspect fled and was arrested inside a church during a religious service (see the video above).

The woman was shot on the night of August 11, in Nova Lima. According to information from the Military Police, she had gone to her ex-partner's house to talk to him when she was attacked. The victim was rescued and taken to a health unit, but he did not survive his injuries.

After the crime, the suspect fled. During the searches, military police officers located him on a public road, at which point he allegedly shot at the agents and hit a vehicle. There was an exchange of gunfire, but the man managed to escape.

With the support of new teams and a PM aircraft, the searches continued until the suspect was found inside an evangelical church, where he was participating in a service and trying to pass himself off as a believer. He was arrested at the scene.

According to the police report, the man confessed to the crime to the military. The weapon used was later found on land near the church. The case gained repercussion after the release of images of the arrest inside the religious temple.
