Suspects of homicides in AP and Pará die in an exchange of gunfire with the police in Laranjal do Jari

Two men identified by the Military Police (PM) as members of a criminal faction died on Friday night (11) after exchanging gunfire with police officers in the Sarney neighborhood, in Laranjal do Jari, in the south of Amapá.

The action took place during patrolling by a team from the 11th Military Police Battalion (11th BPM), which received anonymous reports that the pair were hiding in the area to plan an attack against rivals.

Following the complaint, the agents requested reinforcement of police in the region and surrounded the property.

According to the incident report, the suspects fired shots at the team as soon as the police approached. In the exchange of gunfire, the duo was hit.

The two were rescued and taken to a health unit, but they did not survive their injuries. The Scientific Police were called to remove the bodies, and two firearms were seized from the residence.

According to the PM, the men had a criminal history for various crimes and acted with extreme violence in homicides in the region, even torturing the victims before the executions.

The investigation points out that they were suspected of violent deaths recorded both in Laranjal do Jari and in the district of Monte Dourado, in Pará.

In one of the cases reported by the corporation, the duo left a teenager tied up while they stabbed her boyfriend to death.
