Taubaté advances with containment works in risk areas

In the first section, close to Sedes, the goal is to build 50 meters of gabion wall. Already, in Jardim Jaraguá, close to Pontal da Amizade, a 180 meter long retaining wall is being built.

The two interventions are being developed in areas with a history of instability on the banks, worsened by the continuous action of water and the occurrence of intense rains.

In addition to stabilizing the banks, the works will help to reduce erosion processes, minimize silting of the stream, preserve its flow capacity and protect the existing urban infrastructure.

The work represents an important investment in the conservation of water resources and the prevention of risks associated with the period of intense rain.

The works are part of a set of actions developed by the City of Taubaté that aim to strengthen the urban drainage infrastructure, promote the environmental recovery of water courses and increase the safety of the population.

The improvements, developed through external investments and own resources, are carried out by a company contracted through a bidding process and inspected by technicians from the Department of Works.
