TBB and Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Vahap Seçer were arrested

Union of Municipalities of Türkiye (TBB) and Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Vahap Seçer, who was detained on October 1 within the scope of the investigation carried out by the Mersin Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, was arrested by the judgeship to which he was brought.

Following his procedures at the police station, Seçer was sent to the courthouse after a medical check-up, and after his statement to the prosecutor's office, he was sent to the criminal judgeship of peace with a request for his arrest.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The operation was carried out on October 1, within the scope of the investigation carried out by the Mersin Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against Mersin Metropolitan Municipality, Yenişehir Municipality and Mezitli Municipality.

In the operation, many suspects, including Vahap Seçer, Yenişehir Mayor Abdullah Özyiğit and Mezitli Mayor Ahmet Serkan Tuncer, were detained.

Following the prosecution procedures, 50 suspects, including Seçer, were referred to the criminal judgeship of peace with a request for arrest.
