Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Numan Kurtulmuş, came to Gaziantep to participate in a series of programs. Kurtulmuş attended the Gaziantep University Academic Year Opening Ceremony. Speaking at the opening ceremony of Gaziantep University Academic Year, Gaziantep University Rector Prof. Dr. Sait Mesut Doğan thanked the Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Numan Kurtulmuş, for his participation and informed him about the university's work and goals.

Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Numan Kurtulmuş, emphasized that the mind of the state and the conscience of the nation came together and started this process and said, "We have left behind the first century of our Republic's history. We have faced many difficulties and survived many times. The most important issue of this century is the scourge of terrorism that has plagued our nation. This issue has been a shackle on Türkiye's feet for 50 years. It has caused a cost of 2 trillion dollars to the Turkish economy. Today, the mind of the state has taken an important step to get rid of terrorism. Why did this happen today? Many political leaders made efforts on this issue." They made efforts, but they could not succeed. Because they did not want this issue to end, it was later revealed that many circles, especially FETO, came together and started this process. Devlet Bahçeli's determined stance and guiding effort were important. One of the most important reasons for taking these steps today is that a social climate has been formed. Everyone says let's finish this work this time. "His conscience has come together," he said.
"Israel is attacking every people in the region"
Stating that Israel is attacking every people in the region, Kurtulmuş said, "The developments around us can no longer allow Türkiye to deal with its own internal issues. Especially the developments in this region, Israel's attitude that threatens the entire region, has made it necessary for Türkiye to solve its internal problems. We must make the inner castle strong. We think the job is easy. Israel attacks every people in the region. They hit every country. Israel wants to destabilize the region. It is in favor of stability in Türkiye and does not allow this."
"A new door has opened before us"
Kurtulmuş said, "The first of this process is the terror-free Turkey process. The factor behind the success of this process is the successful management of the process. The commission established with the participation of all parties made very positive contributions. We held 21 meetings, listened to the opinions of all segments, it made a great contribution to the process. The report was accepted with the votes of 47 of 50 deputies. I thank everyone who served in this commission. The second step is the law that was enacted. This law was seriously prepared. It was accepted with a record vote. The way for the process has been paved. From now on, this "It is the fulfillment of the progress we have made. A new door has opened for us. This door is the door to development of brotherhood. There are risks ahead of us. Young people need to be careful, especially. The language and tone we use is important. We must increase our common values."
"The success of the next period consists of 3 steps"
Underlining that there are 3 steps ahead for success, Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Numan Kurtulmuş said, "The first is that weapons should be left behind and eliminated. The weapons must be completely silenced and completely removed from Türkiye's agenda. The second is the spread and strengthening of the rule of law in all areas in Türkiye. The third is the strengthening of the region with the steps to be taken in terms of economy and development. Wealth and prosperity will spread throughout the region."
"With the end of terrorism, the war barons will lose"
Kurtulmuş said, "Creating cross-border synergy corridors. Gaziantep is not much different from Aleppo or Damascus. Our features are the same. The culture and customs are almost the same. We will create wealth through this synergy through cities in the geography. The development road project will develop the whole region, especially Turkey and Iraq. This road will emerge as a branch of the new silk road. It will provide tremendous economic growth locally. With the end of terrorism, the war barons will lose. Kurtulmuş said, "Mothers in this country will no longer cry. The threat of Turkey being divided will no longer exist. This issue is not just about ending a terrorist organization. Who drew the border that separates us from each other? They drew it artificially and left the borders problematic. But they did not have the power to come between us. The road ahead is the way of uniting the fragmented parts. May God guide us."
