Two people die after car collides head-on with truck on BR-153

Two people died after a car collided head-on with a truck on BR-153, between the municipalities of Guaraí and Presidente Kennedy, in the north-central region of Tocantins. According to the Fire Department, the victims are a woman and a man.

The crash occurred at km 316 of the highway at around 12:30 pm this Sunday (11). According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the victims were the pilot and a passenger. They were in a Fiat Uno Mille Economy and were hit by a Scania T114 truck.

With the impact, the car was completely destroyed and was stuck to the hood of the truck, requiring the use of a winch to remove the vehicle. The bodies were trapped in the wreckage and were extricated by firefighters.

The bodies were taken to the Legal Medical Institute (IML) after forensic procedures at the scene. The circumstances of the collision were not disclosed.
