3.7 magnitude earthquake between Liguria and Tuscany, no damage

The 3.7 magnitude earthquake felt between Liguria and Tuscany was recorded by Ingv instruments at 5.49am, with its epicenter in Fosdinovo, in the province of Massa Carrara, in Lunigiana, it did not cause damage according to what was reported by local institutions.

The Tuscany Region informs that "no reports of damage or critical issues emerged from the checks carried out with the regional Civil Protection system". The epicenter was located 2 km north-east of Fosdinovo and at a depth of 10 km. Before and after the magnitude 3.7 shock, also felt in Liguria, there were others detected by Ingv, again in the Fosdinovo area, but below magnitude 2.0.

"From the findings of our Civil Protection, no reports of damage or critical issues have emerged", confirmed the president of Tuscany Eugenio Giani. "There are several episodes clearly felt by the population during this summer, an activity detected and very present, fortunately without particular effects at the moment, but which we are monitoring carefully, thanks to the usual commitment of our regional system".

"Maximum attention but no critical issues detected even following this latest episode - said the undersecretary to the Presidency Bernard Dika -, in an area with historically detected and present seismic activity. We continue to monitor also in connection with Liguria, since the last tremor affected a border territory. Thank you for the always prompt feedback from our Civil Protection which reassured us. We will continue to monitor with the utmost attention".
