Tesla Model Y Premium prices have increased by 200 thousand TL. We examined the SCT base detail and current prices behind the price increase for the Standard Model Y.
Tesla has updated the prices of the Model Y Premium versions offered for sale in the Turkish market. The 100 thousand TL increase in tax-free ex-factory prices was reflected on the consumer as an increase of approximately 200 thousand TL, with the addition of SCT and VAT. The price of the entry-level rear-wheel drive standard Model Y remained the same. Here is Tesla's new Türkiye price list and the critical SCT detail behind the standard version not receiving an increase.
Tesla Model Y Price List Updated
Tesla has updated the prices of Model Y Premium options in Türkiye's configurator upwards. The simple price increase of approximately 100 thousand TL directly increased the final turnkey price of models in the high tax bracket by around 200 thousand TL.
After the update, the estimated starting price of the Model Y Premium Long Range Rear Wheel Drive version increased to 3 million 906 thousand TL, and the price of the dual-motor Long Range Four Wheel Drive version increased to 4 million 620 thousand TL.
Current Tesla Model Y Türkiye Prices
With the latest edit, the current price table of the Tesla Model Y family in Turkey is as follows:
Model / Version Range 0-100 km/h Estimated Sales Price Model Y (Rear Wheel Drive – Standard) 455 km (WLTP) 7.5 s 1.608.790 TL (No Tax) / ~1.866.000 TL Model Y Premium Long Range (Rear Wheel Drive) 609 km (est.) 7.6 s 3.906.000 TL Model Y Premium Long Range (Four Wheel Drive) 622 km (WLTP) 4.8 sec 4.620.000 TL
Why Wasn't the Standard Model Y Increased?
The most important detail in the price list was that there was no increase in the list price of the entry-level standard Model Y. The main reason for this choice is the electric vehicle Special Consumption Tax (SCT) scales and base limits in Turkey.
Electric vehicles whose engine power does not exceed 160 kW and whose tax-free base is below the legal limit benefit from the lowest Special Consumption Tax bracket of 10 percent. The Standard Model Y is already right on the border of this base. Even a symbolic increase of 1 TL to the tax-free price will move the vehicle to a higher tax bracket (40 percent Special Consumption Tax).
Since such a tax base transition would be directly reflected in the vehicle price as a sudden tax increase of nearly 800 thousand TL, Tesla did not increase the standard model in order to maintain its competitive position at the entry level.
On the other hand, since Premium versions with Long Range battery capacity and high engine powers are already in the upper tax bracket, the bare price increases made in these models only affect the final price based on current rates.
