Minister of Commerce Bolat: Goods exports exceeded 280 billion dollars

Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat made statements about Türkiye's export performance at the IBF Congress and 21st MÜSİAD International Fair held at Istanbul Expo Center. Stating that goods exports exceeded 280 billion dollars annually in the last 12 months, Bolat said that exports of goods and services continued to rise in September.

Bolat, together with MÜSİAD President Burhan Özdemir, visited the stands in the fair area, met with company representatives and received information about the products.

BUYING DELEGATION OF 400 PEOPLE FROM 70 COUNTRIES

Stating that MÜSİAD International Fair was held in Izmir for the first time in 1993, Bolat said that the event was planned to strengthen the commercial integration between Islamic countries and Muslim communities in the world.

Stating that the fair was held for the 21st time this year after 33 years, Bolat noted that the event was held every two years after 2000.

Bolat gave the following information about the fair held in Istanbul Fair Center Yeşilköy:

"Procurement delegations of 400 people were brought from 70 countries. There are nearly 10 thousand visitors from abroad in total. It is expected to exceed 80 thousand together with the total domestic visitors. Around 70 thousand registered visitors visited the fair in the first 3 days alone."

Stating that Türkiye's goal is to increase trade and partnerships around the world, Bolat said that fairs are important tools towards this goal.

Bolat stated that, as the Ministry of Commerce, they support international fairs and companies' participation in these organizations, and that Istanbul has become an important center in the field of fair organizing.

Stating that the performance of the last 8 months in exports has been good, Bolat said that goods exports exceeded 185 billion dollars.

"Total exports of goods have exceeded 280 billion dollars in annualized terms for the last 12 months. I can give good news that pleasing figures will come at the end of September. According to the monitoring we have done day by day, hour by hour, our exports of goods and services are increasing and going well in September. Hopefully, we will reach our export of goods and services figure of 410 billion dollars by the end of the year." he said.

Bolat stated that Türkiye will continue its efforts to increase investment, production, employment and exports, and thanked those who contributed to Türkiye's exports, especially MÜSİAD management and the companies participating in the fair.
