Change in licensed warehousing communiqués from the Ministry of Commerce

In the written statement made by the Ministry of Commerce, it was stated that efforts are continuing to ensure that agricultural products are stored in safe and healthy conditions, that producers can evaluate their products more effectively, and that the licensed warehousing system is strengthened. In this context, it was noted that changes were made in the Communiqué on Giving Establishment Permit to Licensed Warehouse Enterprises and the Cereals, Legumes and Oilseeds Licensed Warehouse Communiqué.

In the statement, "With the 14.4 million tons of storage capacity of 266 licensed warehousing companies, an important activity is carried out in terms of production supply and finding the value of agricultural production.

With the amendments made to the Communiqué on Giving Establishment Permission to Licensed Warehouse Enterprises, it is regulated that horizontal warehouses will not be granted establishment permission for investments to be made from now on.

While the minimum number of steel silos required in new facilities is determined, the minimum storage capacity for licensed warehouses is regulated as 35 thousand tons. "In addition, existing licensed warehouse businesses are given the opportunity to obtain capacity increase permission, provided that they meet the necessary conditions."

It was stated that the amendments made to the Cereals, Legumes and Oilseeds Licensed Warehouse Communiqué aim to strengthen the financial structures of licensed warehouse enterprises and increase operational efficiency, and added: "In this direction, while the minimum capital amounts of licensed warehouse enterprises are increased, their storage capacities are also increased.

The aim of the regulations is to make the licensed warehousing system stronger, more sustainable and more effective, to develop the infrastructure for storing agricultural products and to increase the financial resilience of the sector.
