Call for Resignation from TİP İzmir Provincial Organization to Onur Emrah Yıldız

A reaction to Onur Emrah Yıldız, who joined the AKP after being elected as the Mayor of Çiğli from the CHP, came from the İzmir Provincial Organization of the Workers' Party of Türkiye (TİP). "The will of the people of Çiğli is not for sale! That seat belongs to the workers, not to your rent; resign immediately!" In the written statement titled "The will, democratic rights and future of the people in Çiğli have been clearly seized. Onur Emrah Yıldız, who was elected Çiğli Mayor from the CHP lists, disregarded the will of the voters and joined the ranks of the AKP, which has condemned this country to darkness, poverty and rent-seeking system for years. This transition is not a "choice", but an open trap set against the will of the people, a political pickpocketing!" expressions were used.

"You were elected with the votes you received from the public, you cannot sell it to profiteering networks," the statement continued, adding, "Those who have been deceiving the public with tales of 'we will bring service' for years are now trying to create a cover to protect their seats and join the profit wheels of the government. You cannot hide behind the lie of 'I moved to Çiğli to create resources'! Çiğli has resources, as well as potential! What is missing is not the resources; it is those who do not give away the people's money to contractors, bosses and supporters of the Palace Regime." It is a principled and honorable stance! The people of Çiğli did not approve of the plundering policies of the AKP! Those votes are the votes of the workers of Çiğli who worked hard in the factories, shipyards and construction sites. Those votes are the votes of the workers who were condemned to misery by the AKP government. It is not legitimate, it is unacceptable to take the seat with the vote of the people! We hereby declare clearly: The negotiations you make behind closed doors are null and void on the streets of Çiğli! Onur Emrah Yıldız, that adjective you carry has now fallen out of favor with the public. You cannot sit in that seat for even a single minute by handing over to the AKP the principles you claimed to represent before the election and the will of the citizens who believed in you! This is our open call: Vacate that seat immediately! Onur Emrah Yıldız, who surrendered the will of the people to the AKP usurpation, should immediately resign from his post as mayor! That seat, which was usurped by the votes of the people of Çiğli, should be immediately returned to its owner, that is, the people of Çiğli! We will not give way to those who try to work as municipalities under the shadow of the palace regime and in the lap of profit-earning networks! We will not make Çiğli a looting area for bosses, contractors and palace cronies. The usurped people's will will be taken back with our organized power in the fields, streets and factories.
