Tom Holland is preparing for Fred Astaire biopic with Sabrina Carpenter and Margaret Qualley

“Spider-Man” star Tom Holland (30) is preparing for his new role as the legendary US dancer and actor Fred Astaire. He has now found prominent dance partners for the planned biopic. Sabrina Carpenter (27) and Margaret Qualley (31) will take on the female lead roles under the direction of Paul King (“Paddington”), King told the industry publications “Variety” and “Deadline.com”.

Grammy Award winner Carpenter ("Short n' Sweet") will portray actress Ginger Rogers, Astaire's famous dance partner. Qualley ("The End of the Stars," "The Substance") portrays Adele Astaire, the star's older sister, who had her own dance career.

Fred Astaire (1899 - 1987) and Rogers (1911 - 1995) were Hollywood's most famous dancing couple in the 1930s through joint musical films such as "Flying Down to Rio", "Top Hat", "Swing Time" and "Shall We Dance".
