Ho Chi Minh City organizes 7 fireworks displays, visitors can choose restaurants with beautiful views around the Saigon River park to avoid crowding, or watch at public locations.
On the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the National Day, Ho Chi Minh City organized 3 high-altitude fireworks displays and 4 low-range fireworks displays in all three central areas of Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong and old Ba Ria Vung Tau. Shooting time is from 9:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. on September 2.
Of the 7 points, the Saigon River tunnel head area has the largest scale with 1,000 high-altitude artillery shells, 200 low-range artillery shells, 60 G25 rigs and 30 DBG rigs.
In the city center, visitors can watch fireworks in Saigon ward, An Khanh ward or take a cruise along the Saigon river to watch fireworks. Public places are often crowded, visitors can choose hotels, restaurants, bars, and cruise ships to avoid crowding. Below are places visitors can refer to for the evening of September 2.
Restaurant with river view
Song Bar, Hilton Saigon hotel
Song Bar is located on the top floor (floor 40) of the Hilton Saigon hotel, with a direct view of Me Linh Square and the Saigon River. This location is located close to the river, not blocked by neighboring high-rise buildings, the closest observation point for the high-altitude fireworks display at the beginning of the tunnel across the Saigon River.
The shop is open from 14:00 to 24:00 every day. On the occasion of National Day September 2, Song Bar sells admission tickets with food and fireworks viewing services for about 1.2 million VND per person. Due to the limited number of seats and convenient location, the restaurant prioritizes customers to pay when booking a table.
Oriental Pearl Restaurant
Located on the 66th floor of the Landmark 81 building, Oriental Pearl restaurant is a suitable choice for families who want to enjoy dinner with panoramic views of the city from above.
On holidays, the restaurant serves a high-class seafood buffet with a diverse menu from lobster, oysters, tiger prawns to Asian-European meat dishes, meeting the tastes of large families. The cost for each buffet is about 1.8 million VND on weekdays and 2.2 million VND on weekends or holidays.
Ibaji Dining Restaurant, Sunwah Pearl
The restaurant is located on Nguyen Huu Canh Street, Thanh My Tay Ward, serving Korean-style buffet with grilled dishes, seafood and side dishes. Modern restaurant space, suitable for families, groups of friends or meetings.
From the restaurant, diners can choose a location facing the Saigon River to watch low- and high-range fireworks, depending on the organization area. On the occasion of National Day September 2, visitors should book a table in advance to have a convenient location. Service price starts from about 1.6 million VND.
Dinner on the yacht
Guests can choose to enjoy dinner on the Saigon River and watch fireworks from the cruise. There are many ships serving river cruise products such as Saigon Princess (300 guests), Indochina Queen (600 guests), Ben Thanh Princess (350 guests), Ben Nghe ship (900 guests). The ships anchor at Saigon port, the route goes through Nha Rong wharf, Bach Dang wharf, Landmark 81, Khanh Hoi port, Ben Nghe wharf and back to Saigon port. Boarding time is from 5:00 p.m., ending at 9:30 p.m., ticket prices range from 410,000 VND to more than 1.5 million VND depending on train type and seating position.
Another spot to observe fireworks on the Saigon River with a more reasonable price is the "Saigon River Sightseeing" tour on a double-decker river bus. On the second floor, visitors can clearly observe fireworks shooting in Thu Thiem tunnel. Ticket prices range from 190,000 to 339,000 VND depending on seat class. The number of seats on the river bus is limited to more than 40 seats, visitors should book tickets online on the Saigon WaterGo website to choose a suitable location.
Coffee shop along the Saigon River
Tourists who do not want to spend a lot on restaurants or rooftops can choose cafes around the area of Bach Dang Wharf and Me Linh Square to watch the fireworks. The shops are located near the Saigon River, with some locations facing the fireworks display area. On September 2, the number of customers is often large, so come early to choose a convenient seat.
Four low-range shooting points include Ba Ria Square Park, Ba Ria ward; Dam Sen Cultural Park, Binh Thoi ward; Saigon Marina IFC tower, Saigon ward; and Kim Long Villa Area, Rach Dia Bridge area, Nha Be Commune.
Military, police, medical and traffic forces are assigned to ensure security, fire prevention, and traffic flow in crowded areas watching fireworks. From 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on September 2, waterway vehicles must temporarily stop operating and anchor around shooting areas. The fireworks show is broadcast live.
