The autopsy carried out on the members of the family found lifeless in Rome in the Pietralata district on 31 August gives some answers but does not resolve all the doubts about the double murder-suicide of Luca Abbasciano, 42 years old, his wife Valentina Pambianco, 41, and their 5-year-old daughter Bianca, who has been suffering from a serious form of disability since birth.

According to what was ascertained during the autopsy examination, a total of three gunshots were fired, all to the head. A sort of tragic execution planned for who knows how long and perhaps implemented in a few moments. Some relatives raised the alarm, worried about the fact that Luca and Valentina had not responded to phone calls for a few days. The shooter, in light of what emerged from the specialist examination on the traces of gunpowder released by the gun, was in all probability the father. But some particles were also identified on the mother and this leaves another hypothesis open: the woman could also have had an active role in the tragic affair. The forensic doctors, coordinated by Professor Vittorio Fineschi, also carried out a series of blood tests in order to carry out further investigations and the results of which will arrive in the coming weeks. The objective is to clarify the dynamics of what happened in the apartment on Via dell'Antracite and crystallize the moment of the shot. In fact, it remains to be ascertained whether the little girl was 'conscious' and the exact day and time in which the action was carried out. A massacre that did not spare even the dog who lived in the house with the three and who was killed with a fourth gunshot. Those investigating are lining up a series of pieces, trying to reconstruct the last hours of the family's life.

"We can't do it alone", is the summary of the handwritten messages left by the little girl's father and mother, messages with explicit references to the child's condition, to their feeling isolated, to the difficult management of their daughter. Difficulties also of an economic nature, very high expenses faced to try to find a cure for little Bianca. In this context, the investigators will analyze the bank accounts of the family, who had made more than one trip to Mexico to attempt therapy from an alleged specialist. The objective is to verify the origin of the money and to understand whether the family may have ended up under blackmail or in some criminal ring. The Carabinieri, to whom the Rome Prosecutor's Office entrusted the investigation after the opening of a file alleging the crime of murder, have also acquired the couple's cell phones and PCs and will look for answers there too.
