An Instagram story saying 'Goodbye everyone'. It is the last message from Federico Vella, the 36-year-old Florentine who, according to what has been reconstructed at the moment by the investigators, killed Lorena Isceri, 45, in the afternoon, throwing her from a viaduct on the A1, and then taking his own life. Originally from Lecce but resident in the Tuscan capital, a company manager with a job in northern Italy, Lorena was killed after suffering a real ambush: the man waited for her in the home garage and kidnapped her, then locked her in the trunk of the car. Vella committed suicide by throwing himself from the Lora viaduct of the A1, in Barberino di Mugello (Florence), along the northern carriageway of the Autostrada del Sole Panoramica, at the junction with the Direttissima. Shortly before, he had thrown the 45-year-old into the void, a woman with whom he had had a relationship that seems to have ended, at least according to the messages he had also posted on Instagram a few weeks ago. Last August 12th he published a video on social media with images of the two of them together and of the woman and the writing: 'Some joints are so perfect that, even if you separate them, the shape of the other remains with you forever. To you, who are the woman I loved with all of myself and lost through my stupidity. I will be yours even if I can no longer be yours.'
It remains to be ascertained whether the victim was already dead when he fell: the answer is awaited by the autopsy which the prosecutor's office has already ordered. And an answer to what happened on A1 could come from the highway cameras and the body cam of the traffic police officers, who had intercepted the car after the alarm that the 45-year-old had managed to raise. The new case of feminicide began with an ambush in Florence. Based on what has been reconstructed so far from the investigations - conducted by the Florentine flying squad led by Domenico Balsamo and coordinated by prosecutor Antonio Di Natale - the 36-year-old attacked the 45-year-old in the garage of the woman's house in Rifredi. Then, he would have locked her in the trunk of the car before leaving again and reaching the motorway: it is not clear where he was headed. However, he also left his backpack with his cell phone in the trunk. Telephone that the victim found and used to ask for help: he allegedly called the single emergency number 112 and also to a friend. The man would have noticed this and after stopping the car, he would have snatched her cell phone. In the meantime, following the request for help, the operations room of the Florence police headquarters ordered a search for the car on the motorway. A patrol from the Pian del Spero highway arrived on site.
The officers attempted to approach the man, who was hovering on the bridge. Vella allegedly shouted incoherent phrases, then threw himself from the viaduct: the body cam supplied to the police also recorded the scene while the motorway cameras had recorded what the man had done previously. The body of the 36-year-old was first found in the ground beneath the motorway bridge and then, not far away, that of the woman. In addition to medical aid, the firefighters, the flying squad and the prosecutor arrived on site. Also present were the staff of the 4th section of Florence direction of Autostrade per l'Italia: following the incident on the A1 Panoramica, the section between the junction with the A1 Direttissima and Roncobilaccio was closed. Also today, in Ostia, another murder-suicide: an elderly woman was found dead in a house on the fourth floor of a building in via Mare di Tasman, while her son was found lifeless in the street. According to an initial reconstruction, the woman was suffocated with a pillow, then the man threw himself out the window.
