TRE-PI offers free and accessible transport to voters in elections

Fulfillment of requests depends, according to TRE-PI, on the availability of vehicles and the specificities of each municipality, such as the existence or not of accessible public transport and the distance between the informed address and the voting location.

The initiative, carried out in partnership with municipalities, is part of the Your Vote Matters program, of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE). The objective is to reduce barriers and expand the conditions for participation in the electoral process.

On the forms, voters must provide personal data, address and voting location. And you can request the service for the first or second shift, or both.

"The municipalities will set up routes based on this information from voters eligible for the project. Within 48 hours of election day, eligible voters will be notified about the time and point of embarkation and disembarkation for transport to their polling places", explained the coordinator of the TRE-PI Accessibility and Inclusion Governance Center, Flávia Raphaela Franco Monteiro Barreto.

If the request is accepted, TRE-PI contacts the voter via WhatsApp or email to provide information on access to free and affordable transport.
