Last week, it came to light, after the case was described by Wirtualna Polska journalists, that at the end of the 2025/26 season, Siemieniec wrote to referee Arkadiusz Kamil Wójcik - working as an assistant or technical - a message regarding possible yellow cards for his players who were at risk of a forced break in the last round.

The match between Jagiellonia and GKS Katowice (2:2) was coached by Paweł Raczkowski. Similar contacts are prohibited by the provisions of the Polish Football Association, and when they occur, the referees are to report them to the Polish Football Association, which Raczkowski did immediately after the match.

However, I have over 600 matches under my belt as a coach and I have never been in digital contact with the referees before a match. However, after the match there are emotions and unpleasant situations occur. Sometimes you need to apologize for your behavior. Things were different after games, especially when I was younger. I had a criminal record. I had hot blood. It looks different now, but there have never been situations like this, he continued.

Papszun commented on Siemieniec's case for the first time on Thursday at a press conference before the classic against Widzew. He mentioned that when he was managing Raków Częstochowa, in one of the matches, in his opinion, strange events took place on the pitch. Maybe I didn't need to say it, but put yourself in my situation. I heard about it and immediately recalled that match where I saw a lot of strange events. What thoughts should I have? To be clear - I am not accusing anyone. I don't want to insinuate anything. I simply expressed my thought, something that came to my mind at that time. End of story - said Legia's coach.

The Ekstraklasa SA League Committee announced that it would look into Siemieniec's contacts with the referees. However, the chairman of the commission, Jarosław Poturnicki, emphasized that the case did not involve corruption or any allegations of manipulation of the result.
