At least three people, including an eight-month pregnant woman and a minor, died this Sunday around ten o'clock at night in shootings in the El Rocío neighborhood, in Isla Cristina (Huelva), after two hooded men arrived at the area on a motorcycle and one of them shot "with a long gun." Later, as they fled, they burned the vehicle in some nearby pine forests, according to the Civil Guard.
The Civil Guard has taken charge of the investigation to clarify the circumstances of the event, as well as try to identify the alleged culprits. Apparently, this triple murder could be related to the one that left one man dead and another injured in 2024 in the El Torrejón neighborhood of Huelva capital.
The three deceased are a 39-year-old woman, eight months pregnant, her mother, 62 years old, and a 16-year-old minor; The three bodies were lying on the street floor waiting for the judge to arrive at the scene to authorize their transfer to the Forensic Anatomical Center for the autopsy.
Numerous residents and visitors to the town have been able to see the bodies of the victims for a long time, until they were covered, and images immediately began to circulate on social networks.
Likewise, the event has also resulted in two injuries, one slightly and the other seriously, the latter being 18 years old. Summary secrecy has been decreed regarding these events.
Reckoning
Investigators are working on the hypothesis that it may be a settling of accounts related to a shooting that took place in the El Torrejón neighborhood of the capital of Huelva in September 2024 and which left one dead and two injured.
According to the Civil Guard, the two deceased women are the mother-in-law and sister of 'El Baba', the alleged perpetrator of a shooting in this area in September 2024 that left one person dead. Furthermore, the seriously injured person is his nephew.
The alleged perpetrator of the fatal shootings in 2024 fled immediately after the events, although weeks later he was located and arrested in Gijón (Asturias) by the National Police.
As for the deceased minor, according to Benemérita, he has no relationship with the two women who have died and would not have anything to do with the alleged settling of scores.
In the weeks after the 2024 crime, several additional retaliatory or intimidation shootings were recorded in the El Torrejón neighborhood, which later moved to Isla Cristina where several relatives of the aggressor took refuge.
More shootings due to "family quarrels"
In this town, in May 2025, the Civil Guard deployed an operation and arrested three people from this area, including a minor, for threatening neighbors with firearms and carrying out "intimidating shots" from rooftops. In the operation, two shotguns and a pistol, ammunition of various calibers and more than 58,000 euros in cash were seized.
Despite this, the Court of First Instance and Instruction number 3 of Ayamonte (Huelva), acting as guard, agreed to the provisional release of the two detained adults.
The Civil Guard explained that this would be related to what happened in September 2024 in the neighborhood of El Torrejón, when due to an argument "due to family quarrels" one man died and another was injured with a firearm, which triggered "an open conflict between the two clans, with the family of the deceased even going so far as to offer a reward of 50,000 euros for valid information that could facilitate the location of the escaped person."
