Trump suggests Zelensky meet Putin in Moscow; Zelensky rejects the proposal

During Tuesday's meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, US President Donald Trump suggested Volodymyr Zelensky to go to Moscow and meet Vladimir Putin in person. According to Bloomberg's sources, the American leader hopes that direct dialogue between the leaders of Ukraine and Russia could revive peace talks.

Zelensky is adamant

The Ukrainian president has previously rejected the possibility of meeting Putin in Moscow. It's about the place because he's ready to talk. This time, too, Zelensky firmly refused to hear about Moscow, and people close to him admitted that Trump's proposal irritated him.

While in New York, Zelensky was asked by Russian state media journalists when he would go to Moscow. The President of Ukraine ignored these questions, but at one point he replied: On a rocket.

The US proposes trilateral talks

On Friday, Zelensky announced that the United States had proposed to organize a technical, trilateral meeting with the participation of the United States, Ukraine and Russia in the United Arab Emirates. Kyiv is currently waiting for a proposal for specific dates. The last round of such talks took place in February. Since then, Ukraine and Russia have only talked to the Americans separately.

In New York, during the UN General Assembly, representatives of the Ukrainian and Russian authorities met with members of the American administration, but no direct talks took place between Kiev and Moscow.
