Autumn weather across Türkiye: Temperatures are falling, a rainy system is coming

Autumn weather has begun to take effect across Türkiye. According to the latest evaluations made by the General Directorate of Meteorology; It is estimated that the northern, central and eastern parts will be partly cloudy in places, the Central Black Sea coasts, the Eastern Black Sea and Hatay coasts, Erzincan and Ardahan surroundings will have showers and thunderstorms, and other places will be slightly cloudy and clear.

A new cool and rainy system will affect Turkey over the Balkans over the weekend. According to the latest data shared by the General Directorate of Meteorology; Rainy weather will enter from Thrace; It is estimated that on Sunday, it will expand its impact area and cause showers and thunderstorms in the Marmara, Aegean, Western Mediterranean and west of Central Anatolia.

With the new system, temperatures will drop sharply across the country and severe thunderstorms will be effective in many cities. On Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, temperatures will decrease by 4-5 degrees, especially in the western and central regions, and will drop below 20 degrees in the new week.

CNN Turk Meteorology consultant Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen; He said that the rains would be effective for 7-8 days and warned, "Do not go out without a raincoat and umbrella starting from Sunday."

Şen made a statement on his social media account; "It starts to rain tomorrow evening in Istanbul. It will rain for 7-8 days. Starting from Sunday, do not go out without a raincoat and umbrella. It is also good to get wet. The temperatures are reaching the October average. It will not exceed 20 degrees. Keep your coat with you," he said.

A warning for Istanbulites also came from the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM).

AKOM announced that intermittent showers and occasionally heavy showers are expected in the city throughout the next week. According to the statement made by AKOM, the Marmara Region, especially Istanbul, will be under the influence of the cool and rainy weather wave coming from the Balkans. It is estimated that the rain, which will be seen as local transitions tomorrow, will increase its effect as of 18.00 on Sunday and spread throughout the province.

It is predicted that the rain will continue throughout the week in the form of intermittent showers and occasionally heavy showers. The wind is expected to strengthen from the north starting from noon tomorrow and reach speeds of 30 to 60 kilometers per hour.

It is considered that with the strong northerly wind blowing, the air temperatures, which are currently in the range of 22 to 24 degrees, will drop to around 15 to 18 degrees, falling below seasonal norms.
