Türkiye's first domestically designed suction dredger, UAB Mavi Vatan, was launched

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu reported that the absorbent dredging ship UAB MAVİ VATAN, which was built for the first time in Turkish shipyards with a domestic design, was launched.

A first in Turkish shipyards

Minister Uraloğlu, in his statement regarding the construction process of UAB MAVİ VATAN, said, "We launched our new type of absorbent dredging ship, UAB MAVİ VATAN, for which we made the first block welding, on April 10, 2025. We built an absorbent dredging ship for the first time in Turkish shipyards with our domestic design." he said.

85 meters long, 2 thousand cubic meters capacity

Giving information about the technical features of UAB MAVİ VATAN, Uraloğlu said, "Our ship has a length of 85 meters, a dredging depth of 20 meters and a capacity of 2 thousand cubic meters. We will be able to carry out the dredging and cleaning works especially in our bays with our own national ship belonging to our Ministry." he said.

Able to scan while driving

Drawing attention to the full automation feature of the ship, Uraloğlu said, "UAB MAVİ VATAN will be able to scan while sailing, thanks to its full automation feature. We will put our ship into service after a few months of sailing experience." He made a statement.
