Türkiye's exports to the Far East increased in the January-August period

According to the information compiled by the AA correspondent from the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) data, Türkiye's exports increased by 4 percent in the January-August period of this year compared to the same period last year, rising from 177.9 billion dollars to 185 billion dollars.

In the January-August period, 5 billion 736 million dollars of exports were made to Far Eastern countries, including Bangladesh, Brunei, China, East Timor, Indonesia, Philippines, South Korea, Japan, Cambodia, North Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Taiwan and Vietnam.

During the said period, exports to Far Eastern countries increased by 18.6 percent, from 4 billion 835 million dollars to 5 billion 736 million dollars. Thus, Türkiye's exports to Far Eastern countries increased by approximately 901 million 237 thousand dollars in the said period.

In the January-August period, the highest export among Far Eastern countries was to China with 2 billion 530 million 770 thousand dollars. Exports to China increased by 35.1 percent compared to the same period last year.

China was followed by South Korea with 480 million 206 thousand dollars, Japan with 423 million 784 thousand dollars, Indonesia with 365 million 519 thousand dollars and Pakistan with 361 million 643 thousand dollars.

During the said period, exports to South Korea increased by 15.8 percent, Japan by 11.8 percent and Indonesia by 15.2 percent, while exports to Pakistan increased by 2.2 percent.

The country where exports increased the most proportionally was Singapore

Among the Far Eastern countries, Singapore was the country where exports increased the most proportionally. Exports to this country increased by 154.2 percent compared to the same period last year, rising from 127 million 662 thousand dollars to 324 million 529 thousand dollars.

Singapore was followed by Brunei with an increase of 147.6 percent, Laos with 82.7 percent, Cambodia with 49.1 percent and China with 35.1 percent.

In the January-August period, exports to Brunei reached 3 million 62 thousand dollars, to Laos 5 million 799 thousand dollars and to Cambodia 22 million 186 thousand dollars.

When considered on an amount basis, China, South Korea, Japan and Indonesia stood out as Türkiye's largest export markets in the Far East. Total exports to these 4 countries reached approximately 3.8 billion dollars in the January-August period.

During this period, exports increased to 14 of the Far Eastern countries, while a decrease was recorded in 6 of them.

During the said period, mining products stood out among the sectors in exports to Far Eastern countries. The sector's exports to the countries in the region increased by 39.1 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 1 billion 727.3 million dollars from 1 billion 242.2 million dollars.

Mining products were followed by chemicals and products with 983.9 million dollars, and textiles and raw materials with 408.3 million dollars.

The highest export to Far Eastern countries was from Istanbul with 2 billion 27 million dollars.

In the January-August period, Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Elazığ and Kocaeli came to the fore in Türkiye's exports to Far Eastern countries. The total exports of these 5 provinces to the countries in the region exceeded 4 billion 121 million dollars.

In the 8 months of the year, the highest exports to Far Eastern countries were made from Istanbul with 2 billion 27 million 159 thousand dollars.

Istanbul was followed by Ankara with 1 billion 333 million 264 thousand dollars, Izmir with 366 million 129 thousand dollars, Elazığ with 202 million 828 thousand dollars and Kocaeli with 192 million 29 thousand dollars.
