Türkiye National Volleyball Team Defeats Germany 3-1 and Advances to Tomorrow in the Quarter Finals

The Sultans of the Net are knocking down their opponents one by one in the European Championship and continue to be the pride of the whole Türkiye... The Crescent-Stars team got their ticket to the semi-finals by defeating Germany 3-1 in the quarter-final match of the 2026 CEV European Championship.

The crescent-star team started the match well with Vargas and was leading 15-10, causing Germany to take a second timeout. The National Team, which did not allow its opponent to reduce the difference, won the first set 25-18.

Germany started the second set well. Unable to respond to their opponent in defense, the national team fell behind 6-1 and the first time-out request in this set came from Türkiye. Although the National Women's Volleyball Team recovered after the break and tried to close the gap, Germany continued to score points. Although the star and crescent team reduced the difference to 2 points with captain Eda Erdem in front of the net and Derya Cebecioğlu in the diagonal, Germany, which did not make any mistakes at critical moments, finished the set ahead 25-22 and brought the score to 1-1.

The third set started with a balanced game. With the support of the fans, the national team made fewer mistakes in this set. The National Team gained a 7-point lead (7-14) and Germany took a time-out. Continuing their good play, the Stars and Crescents team completed the third set 25-18 and made it 2-1.

The fourth set was competitive. With Vargas' effective serves and points, the national team brought the score to 16-13 and forced their opponent to take a timeout. Returning from the break, Germany scored 3 points in a row and when they equalized (16-16), this time the National Team went to the break. After this moment, in Türkiye, which had a 5-0 series, Vargas came to the fore again with his performance in the last episode and the Crescent-Stars won the set 25-22 and the match 3-1 and advanced to the semi-finals.

COMPETITION IN THE SEMI-FINAL IS SERBIA

The national team will face Serbia in the semi-finals. The giant match will be played at Sinan Erdem Sports Hall on Saturday, September 5th. In the other semi-final match, Italy and Poland will share their conditions.
