Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that the operation to transfer television and radio broadcasts on Türksat 3A, which has been in service since 2008, to the high-capacity satellites in the Türksat satellite fleet was carried out uninterruptedly and successfully.
Minister Uraloğlu stated that since Türksat 3A, which has been operating for 18 years, has completed its technological life, the broadcasts of media organizations were moved to new generation satellites on the night between 15 August and 16 August. Uraloğlu explained that this huge operation, in which hundreds of frequencies were switched simultaneously and required very high engineering precision, was completed flawlessly without any interruption on the screens, and said, "Our television and radio channels will now broadcast with higher quality and higher technology with our new generation satellites." he said.

Minister Uraloğlu emphasized that the technical preparations that have been going on for a month in coordination with television and radio channels to ensure that the transition process goes smoothly for both broadcasters and citizens have resulted in a perfect operation, drawing attention to the technical magnitude of the transportation process and said:
"Our Türksat 3A satellite has shouldered the burden of our broadcasting industry for 18 years. In line with developing technology, new global standards in broadcasting and our increasing capacity needs, we transferred the broadcasts of our media organizations to the more powerful satellites of our fleet. It is easy to say; the transportation of 573 television and 215 radio channels means that nearly 1000 frequencies and broadcast parameters in space are locked to their new addresses simultaneously, within seconds. The superior talent and meticulousness of our Türksat engineers Thanks to this work, we have successfully completed such a huge and zero-error frequency transfer operation without any disruptions. Turkey's broadcasting infrastructure in space is now much stronger.”
Underlining that the satellites to which the broadcasts are transmitted are in the same orbital position as Türksat 3A, Uraloğlu also stated that citizens do not need to adjust the satellite dishes. Uraloğlu said, "It was our top priority to ensure that our citizens' television enjoyment was not affected in the slightest by this process. Since our new generation satellites, which transmit broadcasts, are at the same orbital angle in space, our viewers will be able to continue watching broadcasts without changing their existing satellite dishes and antenna angles in any way, only with a higher quality image. We are proud to have completed this technological transition flawlessly in millions of households, without causing any technical difficulties to our citizens." he said.
AUTOMATIC UPDATE ON TKGS SUPPORTED DEVICES
Stating that millions of users have access to current broadcasts without any action, thanks to the Türksat Channel Update System (TKGS) in new generation televisions and satellite receivers, Uraloğlu reminded what needs to be done for citizens using old generation devices.
Uraloğlu said, "Thanks to the TKGS system developed by our Türksat engineers, the list of TV and radio channels has been automatically updated. Our citizens who use older model satellite receivers that do not support TKGS can easily access their broadcasts on the new frequencies by performing a 'Network Scan' or 'Network Scan' on their devices." He used his expressions.
Minister Uraloğlu stated that Türksat is among the most powerful satellite operators in the region with 6 communication satellites and underlined that it will strengthen our country's communication infrastructure with new satellite projects.
Reminding that Turkey's first domestic and national communication satellite, Türksat 6A, is a milestone for our country, Uraloğlu said, "Turkey has become a country that can develop its own technology in space studies, as in many fields. We are one of the 11 countries that produce communication satellites. Türksat 6A serves a very wide geography commercially. Türksat 7A is next. We will implement Türksat 7A with a local and national perspective." he said.
